Girivalam

The Tiruvannamalai Girivalam is a 14 km long walking tour around Mount Arunachala, which is considered the abode of Lord Shiva. It is mainly observed on full moon days, although people visit Girivalam every day. Pournami nights and early morning Devotees walk 14 km barefoot around Annamalai Hill, chanting prayers and experiencing the divine presence of Lord Shiva.
